About Us

We are a young family starting out fresh on this journey of farming, with a lot to learn, but with great big hearts and open minds, we believe we can build something amazing. We will grow nourishing food for ourselves, our neighbors and our community through sustainable, regenerative and humane practices. We want our animals to live their lives out in the full expression of who they are. We are fostering a connection to the land for our children and sharing this experience with you.

Bret is originally from South Africa and Canadian born. He grew up near what they call the "bushveld", drawing much inspiration from his mother, who ran an organic farm and raised horses, also breeding dogs. Many hours were spent mountain biking down steep hills, fly fishing the streams and backpacking in the Drakensberg Mountains. In college, Bret also focused on Geography - modeling the watershed and analyzing planning impacts. For the last 10 years, Bret has worked in the US, gaining insights from working with both the publicrealm and within private environmental consulting firms.
